Who we are
Back to the Future: Reviving Forgotten Music for a Digital Age
About Rikki Wall and Living Scores Project
Born out of original PhD research on Viennese flute concertos, our project bridges scholarship, performance, and innovation. These transcriptions, sourced from public-domain manuscripts, reveal a wealth of untapped musical heritage—heritage that can be heard again, not only in concert halls but also across today’s most dynamic media platforms.
I am Rikki Wall — a flautist, researcher, and creator of Living Scores Project. With advanced training in Baroque music and orchestral performance, I hold two Master’s diplomas and am completing a PhD specializing in historical performance practice.
Living Scores Project began as a passion to rediscover overlooked composers and neglected scores from 1750–1830. Each work is carefully reconstructed from historical manuscripts, then given new voice through digital orchestration. My aim is to create music that is both authentic to its time and relevant today — whether enjoyed by classical listeners, students, or woven into the sound worlds of modern media.
We are a team driven by a passion for rediscovering and reimagining the music of the past. Our work began in the archives, transcribing more than forty forgotten Baroque and Classical concertos from handwritten 18th- and 19th-century manuscripts into modern digital scores. These works—silent for centuries—are now given new life through Sibelius® software and cutting-edge digital technology.
